About tbd.
tbd. is an Omaha based modern and contemporary dance collective founded in 2014 by a group of artists and dancers who wanted to create, learn, explore, and perform movement together. The idea of the collective developed organically based on a need for more consistent performance and choreographic opportunities for modern dancers in Nebraska. What began as an unknown, and self-made DIY dance project, quickly grew into an established and recognized fixture in the Omaha arts community.
Through organizations like KANEKO and the Under the Radar Festival, tbd. has been able to create performances that challenge audience perceptions of dance as an art form, and facilitate workshops that enrich people’s lives with movement and self expression. Our work is the result of collaborations and relationships we have fostered with artists throughout the community who specialize in lighting, sound, music, visual art, and film. Through these collaborations, tbd. has been able to expand upon the creative process of building choreography and produce multidisciplinary movement-based performances.
Our mission is to produce unique and quality art through movement, to collaborate with other artists throughout the community so that our work is both innovative and relevant, to encourage critical dialogue about choreography and performance, and continue the growth and support of modern/contemporary dance in Omaha. Art rEVOLVEd: Local Art & Local Business: Connected. Empowered. Inspired.
Omaha-based artists Andrea Schmitz Stein, Daniel Boylan, Bart Vargas, Watie White, and Mary Zicafoose presented on their respective creative processes and approaches to the visual arts. Each of these artists are represented by Revolve Fine Art, an Omaha-based public benefit corporation focused on promoting local artists to corporate clients via art leasing, sales, and commissions. In addition to the artist presentations, Revolve Fine Art presented their philosophy that living with art improves life, at home and at work, and extol their efforts to enrich our local artists and our local businesses.
Attendees had the opportunity to learn the benefits of corporate art leasing as well as the artists’ benefits of representation by Revolve.
About Revolve Fine Art
Revolve Fine Art is a public benefit corporation based in Omaha, Nebraska, that believes in the power, inspiration, and beauty that art brings to the world. We’ve made it our mission to represent and promote local artists in an accessible, alternative way: by leasing their artwork to local businesses. Leasing provides a 100% tax-deductible alternative to purchasing art that not only supports our local artists, but also infuses your work environment with original works of art. Enriching our local artists and our local businesses. We believe that artists are valuable, enriching members of our community and we are committed to supporting their work: work that opens our minds and our thoughts, ignites our conversation and our creativity, and brightens our life.
We believe that living with art improves life; when you look for beauty, you will find inspiration. Galleries and museums serve this worthy purpose, but are removed from most people’s daily lives. We believe the experience of inspiration should be accessible, not just in a local art museum, not just in your home, but right there on your wall during your day, at your workplace. Because there is no aesthetic quite as personal and as gratifying as a work of original art. We believe that there is value in the alternative. Rather than asking, “What can business do for the arts?” We ask, “What can the arts do for business?” Consequently, we bring our virtual gallery and our art consultants to you. We offer a corporate art leasing program that provides your business the opportunity to display original art in revolving exhibitions without capital investment.

Koterba & Becka: A Picture And A Thousand Words
Category: Free • Lectures | Season: Passion & Obsession
Tom Becka and Jeff Koterba discuss their craft, and how, when the dust settles at the end of the day, they can agree to disagree as friends.
You’ve seen Tom Becka on TV and have heard him on radio. Larger-than- life personality, trademarked voice espousing his opinions on the latest controversy. You’ve seen Jeff Koterba’s cartoons, pen and ink arrows quietly sharpened at his drawing table and directed at newsmakers. Different mediums. With sometimes differing points of view. But through their words and images they tell a story in the form of commentary—concise and to the point. How do they do it, day after day? Where do they get their ideas? Competitors with Omaha’s—and the country’s—best interest at heart.
Tom Becka
Tom Becka can be seen every night during Omaha’s Fox 42 News at 9 giving his unique views on what’s happening in Omaha and the rest of the world. His Becka’s Beat can be humorous, poignant, serious, or whimsical. But they are always informative, entertaining and on point. Becka’s Beat is also available on demand at Fox42KPTM.com. He is also a nationally-recognized radio talk show host currently heard Monday-Friday on legendary Kansas City radio station KCMO. Formerly of KFAB and KOIL in Omaha, Tom has been named one of the Top 100 talk show hosts in America ten times by Talkers magazine and one of the Top 25 local hosts in America by Newsmax magazine. He has also been a fill-in host for nationally-syndicated radio shows and on WLS in Chicago and many others.
Prior to his career in radio and TV, Tom spent a number of years traveling the country telling stories as a stand up comic. He performed with such greats as Jerry Seinfeld, Lewis Black, Sam Kinnison, Darrel Hammond, Drew Carey, and the rock band, Chicago to name a few. He is also author of the Amazon bestselling book, There’s No Business Without The Show, where he applies the communication skills he learned as a stand up comic to the world of sales and business. A man with varied accomplishments and life experiences, Tom is not afraid to speak out when others remain silent.Jeff Koterba
Since joining the Omaha World-Herald in 1989, Jeff Koterba has been a finalist for Editorial Cartoonist of the Year from the National Cartoonists Society—2002—and has twice placed second in the National Headliner Awards—2000 and 2012. Inklings was named a Chicago Tribune Favorite Nonfiction book of 2009. Entertainment Weekly called Inklings ”…a powerful and moving portrait of an artist.” Koterba’s band, Prairie Cats, has performed at the South by Southwest music festival, The Derby in Hollywood, Windows on the World at the World Trade Center, and at the National Cartoonists Society Reuben awards. -

Intangible: A tbd. Dance Collective Performance
Category: Performances | Season: Passion & Obsession
Why do we collect and consume art? Where does obsession originate in the mind? Can something intangible be collected?
As a part of KANEKO’S “Passion & Obsession: From the Collection” exhibition, tbd. dance collective created an original performance exploring the idea of movement as an intangible collection, able to be viewed, but only truly stored in the mind. Through movement, lighting, and sound, tbd. transformed the performance space into the mind of the artist. Within this new space, the audience observed the artist firsthand as they obsessively consumed and recalled movement in an attempt to build an intangible collection.

Todd Fink (born Todd Baechle) and wife Orenda Fink converged first on tour, then in love and now in music. CLOSENESS, the couple’s first group together, is the result of two incredibly talented musicians melding in life and in art. Both halves of this new project have work spanning a variety of venerated musical outfits. Todd is most notably the frontman of The Faint, while Orenda is best known as one-half of the slick Azure Ray, and has credits including Moby, Bright Eyes, Paul Kalkbrenner, Eric Bachmann, Delerium, Sparklehorse, and Isaac Brock.Their debut work, which Todd recorded, produced and mixed in his home studio, is ripe with dreamlike scenarios, skirting the edge of otherworldliness. Pulsating rhythms boom and break around futuristic vocals from both. Together, they create a unified archetype that is moody, therapeutic and deeply inspired by the most basic questions about life, meaning, love and death. -
