We heard works that stretched the idea of inversion, gymnastic feats of motion, Hasidic celebratory influences, and the ever-growing, ever-changing face of jazz. Kansas City-based musicians John Klinghammer, Noah Geller, Mari Yoshinaga and Sean Chen proved that you don’t need to know the steps to recognize the groove.
