We stepped inside the process of glass artist, Corey Broman.

This members only event took us through Corey Broman’s process and fostered a discussion around the creation of his work. After an interview with Corey, we encouraged those who attended to ask questions in order to gain a deeper understanding of the conceptualization and techniques he uses to create.

Born in Lincoln, NE in 1979, Corey started working with glass shortly after graduating high school in 1998. An exhibit by Dale Chihuly at the Joslyn Art Museum inspired him to pursue glassblowing. After working and learning under Ed Fennel at Crystal Forge for several months, Corey joined the studio glass program at Hastings College to further his glassmaking education. There he became an apprentice and assistant to professor of glass, Tom Kreager. Corey became involved in intensive Venetian-style glassmaking techniques while working with other students and under his professor. Corey was also a featured artist in our light exhibition.
