Volunteer at KANEKO

Our volunteers help make our programming possible! By contributing your time, energy and specialized skills, help us make our exhibitions and events even more spectacular.


Gallery Volunteer

Be the face of KANEKO by donating your time in our beautiful gallery. Gallery volunteers learn all about our organization, our current season and our extensive programming so they can share that knowledge with visitors. They assist with demonstrations and educational programming as well as events and private rentals.

Tasks

  • Interact with visitors of all ages in the gallery, demonstrate interactive exhibits and educate visitors about gallery mindfulness and our mission of creativity
  • Assist with set-up and coordination of KANEKO events and rentals
  • Represent our organization at off site pop-ups and booths

Exhibition Docent

Share your knowledge and passion for the arts with your Omaha community by leading KANEKO exhibition tours! Whether by leading one of our weekly public tours or showing the space to a group of first graders; volunteer docents are an invaluable resource to share the many stories behind our ever-changing exhibitions.

Tasks

  • Lead groups (children & adults) through the featured exhibition, share your knowledge and encourage visitors to explore and engage with our programs
  • Partner with our education staff to find new and exciting ways for students to experience KANEKO
  • Represent our organization at offsite educational conferences and at local schools
