GRADES: 4th to 6th

Throughout this Virtual Reality Camp, students will engage in interactive activities such as creating their own avatars, conceptualizing and crafting 3D objects and building environments to explore and create their own works of art within a virtual world. Campers will work collaboratively while learning the fundamentals of 3D graphics and asset creation using virtual reality equipment. Only half of the day is focused on this subject matter, the other half will contain a variety of other creative activities meant to keep the students engaged throughout the day.

What Does Donation-Based Mean?

Donation-based doesn’t mean our camps are free, it means that we want to make sure children from all income levels can attend camps. You pay what you can.

Our suggested donation for a week of camp is $200, so if you can afford to pay that, please do, you’ll be making it easier for us to provide camp to more kids. If you cannot afford the suggested donation, don’t worry, you have other amounts you can donate, including nothing but a $1 registration fee.

If you’re lucky enough to be able to afford to sponsor a child for a week of KANEKO camp, you can do that too- you will find that option during registration.

CAMP OVERVIEW

Camps are held Monday – Friday from 9AM – 4PM

Lunch and snacks are provided and we will make every effort to have lunch in our outdoor spaces. If your camper has any dietary restrictions, please let us know after you register by emailing katherine@thekaneko.org.

Camp t-shirts will be provided for each camper- you will be prompted to provide a size when you register.

Phone-Free Environment: Our goal is to provide all campers with a summer camp experience that is filled with unique opportunities and is distraction-free. All camper’s phones will be checked in at the beginning of the camp day. Short period of phone time will be allowed, but we aim to have a phone-free environment. Campers are always accessible to families through the KANEKO phones.

COVID-19 POLICY: We are uniquely equipped to manage a restricted number of learners due to our large gallery space and have carefully adhered to city, state, and federal COVID-19 guidelines. Campers, instructors, and all KANEKO employees will be required to wear masks while inside the galleries. Disinfecting stations will be provided in every class space.
