Introducing the fourth annual Omaha Under the Radar Festival.

The fourth annual Omaha Under the Radar unites adventurous contemporary and experimental performing artists from around the country to perform in Omaha, NE, celebrating both Nebraska-based innovators, as well as experimental artists throughout North America.

Described as “purposefully strange and thought-provoking” (Hear Nebraska) and “pushing the boundaries of vocal, instrumental, electronica, dance and theatrical performance,” the 2017 festival promises to draw you into the intricate, virtuosic work of today’s artistic voices.

On July 7, KANEKO featured Duo Noire and Areon Flutes sharing a bill with participants in the yearly SOUNDRY Workshop for experimental music and composition. Admission is $10. Then, on July 8, in response to KANEKO’s summer exhibition KINETIC, dancers and immersive soundscape artists enlivened the entire facility with luminous sound and movement-based art. Colloquy, Carly Sinn, Zeitgeist Percussion invite the audience to wander as they listen and watch.

The afternoon culminates with a world premiere performance of Cassia Kite’s Soundstitching, a new, large-scale work for chamber ensemble and dancers using color-coded graphic scores derived from the composer’s hand-stitched tapestries.

About Omaha Under the Radar
Omaha Under the Radar is an annual experimental performance festival in the Midwest. We celebrate cultural innovators with performances throughout the city of Omaha. The festival emerged from a desire to support innovative performers and creators living and working in the Midwest, and to connect this community to other performance communities throughout the United States. Since the first festival, held in 2014, Omaha Under the Radar has presented over 200 artists from more than a dozen cities throughout the United States. We work to represent a multiplicity of genres, ideas, and identities through performances, talks, group discussions and educational opportunities. Learn More ->
