Tibetan Sand Mandala at KANEKO

June 1-12

Experience the profound artistry of Tibetan Buddhism as monks from the Gaden Shartse Monastery create a sacred sand mandala at KANEKO. Visitors are invited to witness this extraordinary process as the monks meticulously place colored sand grains to form an intricate design dedicated to the Medicine Buddha.

Observe as this masterful creation takes shape through ancient ritual techniques. The experience culminates in a special dissolution ceremony where the monks ritually sweep away their painstaking creation – a powerful reminder of life’s impermanence.

Join us for this rare opportunity to witness both the meditative creation process and the moving ceremony. All are welcome to this unique cultural experience.
