The RiverFront’s Sculpture Garden at Gene Leahy Mall just got a little more immersive.

Hosted by the platform Otocast, a new self-guided audio tour is now available, inviting you to explore five remarkable works of public art at your own pace, with the stories behind each sculpture brought to life along the way.

The five sculptures were handpicked through a partnership between MECA, KANEKO, and the International Sculpture Center, and the artists behind them bring perspectives from Detroit, New Jersey, Seattle, Boston, and East Texas. Together, the works span themes of transformation, memory, nature, and the unexpected beauty found in everyday materials—from salvaged sailboat steel to stainless steel tubes that mirror the tidal currents of New York’s East River.

The tour is entirely self-guided, so you can explore at whatever pace suits you. Stop as long as you like in front of a piece that catches your eye, circle back to one that pulls you in, or simply wander and let the garden unfold naturally.

Whether you’re a longtime Omaha resident or new to the neighborhood, it’s a great reason to head downtown, get outside, and see the city’s public art scene up close.

The Sculpture Garden is located along the Gene Leahy Mall between 12th and 13th Streets, just steps from the Old Market. Admission is free and open to the public. The Otocast platform is available on iPhone and Android devices.

Exhibition and programming made possible through funding from the Metropolitan Entertainment & Convention Authority (MECA)/The RiverFront.
