The nationwide day of arts activism at KANEKO!

Arts Advocacy Day was an opportunity to have your voice heard. We assembled with arts organizations across the state and fellow citizens to emphasize the value of arts in your community. By reaching out to elected representatives we showed them the importance of supporting arts funding and positive arts legislation. Arts Advocacy Day was a nationwide day to garner support for issues like arts education policy, the charitable tax deduction, and funding for the National Endowment for the Arts.

What will Arts Advocacy Day look like?

KANEKO hosted the Omaha community with advocacy opportunities from 3 – 7 PM on March 13th, 2018. Attendees showed their support and wrote letters to our elected officials, or joined us for a special Community Celebration from 5:30 – 6:30 PM. The Community Celebration was an open house event highlighting Omaha’s nonprofit arts organizations with performances, presentations, and remarks from community leaders. Cities statewide participated in various Arts Advocacy Day activities!
