KANEKO Creative Catalyst workshop series partnered local groups with artists to explore various themes within each exhibition to inspire the way we think about the community and demonstrate the value of creative exploration around a joint goal. During light, we guided two Creative Catalyst workshops (TRIPHtic & a.mor.phous) that brought diverse groups together to create a project. L
TRIPHtic
In partnership with WhyArts, we connected three diverse community groups (NorthStar, Quality Living Inc. & Intercultural Senior Center), with three unique local artists (Josh Mullady, Courtney Stein & Lisa Kalantjakos), to interpret Circus Family’s TRIPH installation. During a series of workshops, individuals examined and interpreted TRIPH through their eyes via theatre, stories, music, the visual arts and music. Their examination will take life on February 23 during a unique presentation at our sharing celebration! We hope to inspire the way we think about the community and demonstrate the value of arts integration.
a.mor.phous
We partnered with light exhibition glass artist, Corey Broman, and Monroe Middle School Art Club to examine and interpret Broman’s artistic vision and creative-process to enhance a broader view of exploratory education practices, and demonstrate the value of arts integration. A visit and demo at Broman’s studio, tours of the light exhibition, and a hands-on glass project will culminate with an installation as part of Broman’s glass exhibit in space 6 at our sharing celebration!
