We explored the great outdoors!

On April 27th-30th, Omaha participated in the City Nature Challenge with the Omaha STEM Ecosystem an international bio-blitz. This was the first time that a city in Nebraska was participating in the challenge.

City Nature Challenge is a worldwide conservation event, where youth and adults are encouraged to go out in their cities and backyards to find, identify, and count wildlife using the iNaturalist app. If that is not exciting enough, we will be competing with the city of Tulsa, Oklahoma to see who can get the most participants, species, and observations during the event!

We hosted a hands-on activity in conjunction with the Nebraska Science Festival on April 28 from 11 AM – 1 PM, and offered assistance with the iNaturalist app.
