He/Him/His
Born and raised in Northern California, Jason Hovey moved to Omaha after receiving his BA in Studio Art from the University of California at Davis to work as an assistant to Jun Kaneko. Upon completion of a three-year apprenticeship, Jun asked Jason to stay on and manage his studio, which he did in two terms for an additional nine years. Between periods working as Jun’s manager, Jason worked at the Crocker Art Museum in Sacramento, California, as a preparator and mount maker. In addition, he was responsible for developing and constructing creative design solutions for permanent and temporary exhibitions for over five years.
Currently, Jason is developing his studio practice, primarily focusing on ceramics and woodworking.
