Dr. Stacey Barelos is a performer, composer, and educator. As a performer, she specializes in the music of the 20th and 21st centuries, particularly the music of living composers. Regarding her first solo release, The Midwest American Piano Project, the American Record Guide said, “Stacey Barelos…plays with authority and poetic nuance, her beautiful tone captured vividly in this warm recording…”
As a composer, Stacey’s works have been performed across the U.S. and in Europe and Australia. Recently her piece Starfish was featured as part of the “Music as Play” Festival in Como, Italy and several of her works can be heard on the Albany and the Blue Griffin labels.
Dr. Barelos received degrees from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Luther College and Bowling Green State University. Currently, Stacey teaches at the Omaha Conservatory of Music, the University of Nebraska-Omaha and directs the Soundry program as part of the Omaha Under the Radar Festival.
