Explore the creative process of video games.

A returning champion from summers past, Video Game Design camp welcomes a new instructor that offers an exciting new creative process! In this camp, students will jump into the video game development pipeline and practice 2D game design principles alongside the RHO Interactive game design team. Using the Unity game engine and open-source software, campers will create new character skins, animations, backgrounds, and complete playable levels using RHO’s multiplayer battle-game “Megaton Punchers”. This camp offering requires no coding, as we will focus on the creation of digital assets and the use of in-engine tools for making fully interactive experiences focused on core game design principles and narrative development practices. Children Entering Grades 7-9

Sponsorship Available: We believe that every child should have the opportunity to explore their creativity! We are so happy that you would like to enroll your child in the Creative Summer Camps at KANEKO; embracing creativity at this age is vital for young learners and leaders. We know that for many families the cost of Summer Camp can be a financial burden that they might not be able to afford, which is why we are happy to offer sponsorship assistance to our students. If you wish to register your child through our sponsorship program, please click the button below. Once we receive your registration, we will reach out to you within a month to let you know what sponsorship you’ve received.

Half of all students who attend our summer camps are sponsored by the KANEKO due to the generous giving of our members, donors and grant giving organizations. Sponsored students are selected based on financial need and they attend our week long camps for free. If you become a KANEKO Friend Member, your membership will automatically sponsor a child for summer camp. Enrolling your child in summer camp will also help support the financial sponsorship of fellow campers.
