We are too and have a special treat for our members! Brian Langbehn from Coneflower Creamery will be joining us for an event all about ice cream and how flavor combinations and colors will alter your perception of taste. This is a FREE Members only event where we will be discovering the complexities of ice cream through taste – because what better way to do so?
Brian Langbehn
Brian began his culinary journey as a pastry assistant in Chicago at the dessert nightclub, Sugar. Pastry chef Christine McCabe introduced him to the art of making ice cream. After Chicago, Brian spent the summer cooking along Italy’s Amalfi Coast and eating gelato every day. Back in the U.S., Brian landed the pastry chef position at 801 Chophouse, and would eventually work his way up to become executive chef. During this time he hired Katie Arant to be his pastry chef, with whom he often discussed his dream of opening a farm to table ice cream shop. He is ecstatic that his vision of small batch, locally sourced artisan ice cream has become reality!
Katie Arant
Katie has had experience creating pastries in Omaha at M’s Pub, Le Voltaire, and 801 Chophouse. In 2012, her career took her to Napa Valley, California, where she worked at some of the areas most renowned restaurants including Bottega, Coqueta, and Thomas Keller’s Bouchon Bakery. When Katie recieved a mysterious voicemail from Brian, she knew he was finally ready to open Coneflower Creamery. Her love of making ice cream brought her back to Nebraska, where her creativity and experience allows her to craft unique, locally inspired flavors.
