Sometimes you just want to make noise!

A mini fest that manifests the cathartic nature of sound. Noise will immerse you in complicated textures and novel sounds that you may not be able to place or describe. The night will be filled with installations and performances by Screaming Plastic, Jesse Langen, Stacey Barelos and a special pop-up with Soundry musicians during the day at 2:00 PM.

Screaming Plastic is an improvisational noise rock band comprised of percussion, electronics and cello. Jesse Langen uses the electric guitar to create dense, layered soundscapes using pedals and non-traditional implements like hand-held fans and sponges. Soundry musicians will dive into the work of italian futurist, Luigi Russolo who was a builder of incredibly inventive instruments. On top it all, composer, Stacey Barelos will be debuting her newest eclectic percussion piece.

We run with the motto “If you don’t like it, don’t worry.” New music isn’t for everyone, and we get that. We don’t expect you to like everything you hear. Instead, we challenge you to be open to new sounds that break the bounds of traditional music.

This performance is part of the Generator Series, a collaboration between KANEKO and Omaha Under the Radar. We present events that investigate music’s relationship to our physical world, seeking the connections between sound and architecture, sound and natural landscapes, sound and the human body, and more.
