Explore light in Nature!

On Saturday, March 17, 2018 from 11 AM -1 PM we hosted Family Day!  Family Day is an opportunity for families to participate in hands-on STEM + Creativity experiences that explore various themes in the light exhibition.

Free and open to the public. Supplies are provided while they last.

Activities

We were joined by Astronomers from the Omaha Astronomical Society with telescopes to safely view the sun (weather-permitting).

Austen Hill, a naturalist from the Papio-Missouri River Natural Resource District was on-site with insects and feathered friends that are impacted by light.

Jellyfish are a wonder of bioluminescence. As part of KANEKO’s upcoming exhibition, REALITY, a hands-on activity of constructing jellyfish from plastic bags was used to explore human consumption of plastic while creating something beautiful that will become part of a larger installation within the Museum of Alternative History, which is now housed within the REALITY exhibition. Help us build a smack of jellyfish!

KIDSpace at the K-UNO Library also had books, film and hands-on building tools for little humans + their big humans.
