Nothing is created in isolation.

As part of The Movement Series, tbd. dance collective presents ÆFFECT. This evening length production began in the studio while recording sounds generated through movement. These sounds became the base and inspiration for the original score, structure, and content of the performance. Choreography was re-imagined to the audio samples, and music was generated in response to visual samples and ideas of movement. The result is a production that is a reflection of itself, representing the cyclical nature of collaboration and influence.  Nothing is created in isolation.

ÆFFECT features original music by Dereck Higgins and Graham Ulicny.

About the MOVEMENT Series:

Presented by KANEKO and tbd. dance collective, MOVEMENT is a series of performances and workshops exploring the creative process + presentation of dance. Influenced by both exhibition and space, productions within the series feature site-specific choreography, multidisciplinary collaborations, and encourage dialogue the relationship between movement and visual art. Through interactive workshops, audience members are invited into the process of developing movement-based productions and choreography.

About tbd. dance collective:

tbd. is a non-profit, modern + contemporary dance collective with a creative process + vision built around exploration and collaboration. Operating under the belief that movement can be a platform for communication and connection, it is our mission to provide unique dance experiences through performance and education that encourage dialogue and expand perceptions of movement  as an art form.

We work with artists and organizations throughout the community to produce movement based productions that feature site specific choreography and multidisciplinary collaboration.  Our work is highly imaginative, diverse in content and structure, and seeks to discover the possibilities for performance within unconventional spaces.
