She/Her/Hers
Katie Brown is a two-time graduate of Creighton University with a Bachelor’s in Justice & Society and Spanish, and a Master’s in Business Administration. Being able to combine her passion and background in nonprofits with the ability to support KANEKO operationally as the Finance Manager has been a dream fit. She is excited about how this role will allow her to invest in the Omaha community by supporting the creativity cultivated at KANEKO.
Before coming to KANEKO, Katie spent a volunteer year post-grad working with a mentor and scholarship program in Miami. From there, she returned to Omaha where she worked with local nonprofits in programmatic and development roles. Finally, she found her way back to Creighton to work with international programming and medical missions to the Dominican Republic.
Personally, Katie is an avid thrift store goer, collector and creator of clip-on earrings and lover of singing in the car. Her husband is the best baker she knows and provides plenty of taste-testing opportunities. As a new mom, she can proudly recite “Goodnight Moon” from memory and makes a mean roasted sweet potato.
