She/Her
Alexia Jacobmeier is an artist from Omaha, Nebraska who graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 2022 with a Bachelor’s in Fine Arts. In college she emphasized in photography and took extensive coursework in painting and drawing. After graduating, her love for art led her to intern at the Bemis Center for Contemporary Art where she helped assist different artists during their residency. Learning from practicing artists outside of a strictly educational setting helped her learn more about the arts while showing her different ways to express creativity that may seem unique or out of the box.
After her internship, Alexia has continued creating her own art while working as a Gallery Assistant at KANEKO. She loves being able to work in a space surrounded by art and other creatives. While working on her artistic practice, Alexia has enjoyed experimenting in ways to combine different mediums, both conceptually and physically, although her love for painting has stayed a major focal point. She has had her work shown in multiple exhibitions including in Split Gallery and Radial Arts Center (Omaha, NE), Jones Gallery (Kansas City, MO), The Burkholder Project (Lincoln, NE), and Burnt Sienna Gallery & Studios (Galena, IL). She also received an Emerging Artist Stipend from the Burkholder Project in 2023 for her current work.
