She/Her/Hers
Alex Cole is an animator, printmaker, and illustrator based in Omaha, NE. She is currently working on a Bachelor of Arts in Studio Art with a concentration in Media Arts at the University of Nebraska at Omaha with a minor in Business. Cole plans to graduate Summer of 2022.
As an animator and digital illustrator, she wants her work to showcase a narrative. These stories and illustrations tend to lean towards images of dark, whimsical scenery and creatures using a minimal color palette. Her work acknowledges the grim side of the human experience through these playful characters and creatures. These topics range from trauma, stress, depression, and social anxiety disorder. She transforms these experiences into stories and illustrations that share hope and care to help herself and others transcend that darkness. This process is personally cathartic but also focused outward, with the hope of helping others with their healing.
