KANEKO Education Intern

KANEKO staff are curious about the world; about how ideas are created and about the exploration of creativity in all its forms. The Education Intern is an integral job in assisting in the coordination and execution of KANEKO Education Programming. As directed by the Education Manager, the Education Intern will work on classroom management, program setup and tear-down, coordination, and reporting. The Education Intern is expected to be able to handle a faced-paced environment and be equipped with strong communication and organizational skills. 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Work under the supervision of the Education Manager to assist in the execution of KANEKO Education Programs. 
  • Program set-up and tear-down
  • Work as both an independent and assistant educator/KANEKO education representative in classroom activities. 
  • Assist in day-to-day functions of education programs, including but not limited to transportation, filing, organization, inventory, and reporting 
  • Communicate timely and efficiently with staff, partners, families, and students
  • Be a vocal and productive part of the KANEKO staff team, dedicated to advancing the mission of KANEKO 
  • Additional duties as assigned 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education, Fine Arts, or other related degrees (or degree in progress) or commensurate experience with a preferred focus in the Arts, Humanities, and Teaching disciplines 
  • Interest in creative learning and the promotion of innovative and creative learning techniques 
  • Demonstrated superior attention to detail and organizational skills 
  • Ability to work competently and efficiently in a busy multi-task environment 
  • Must be able to prioritize work and must meet deadlines 
  • Must be able to work a set and reliable schedule 
  • Must maintain a welcoming, professional, confidential, honest, and reliable demeanor 

SCHEDULE + REWARDS

  • Education Intern’s schedule will depend on either college program and/or KANEKO’s need and will be determined throughout the interview process
  • An internship is granted college credit upon approval of an advisor. 
  • Education Intern is provided with full membership benefits during the time of employment. 
  • Education Intern receives full mentorship & guidance in the Arts Nonprofit sector throughout the time of employment.
