The candidate will be an integral part of a small team that sits at the heart of the brand with a strong reputation for consistently delivering top-class written content. They will be required to take on significant responsibility from the outset and lead the evolution of the KANEKO social media brand and weekly newsletters.

This role will report directly to the Design & Marketing Manager of KANEKO but will work closely with many functions within the existing organization: frequently collaborating with the Programming and Educational Managers. The Communications and Marketing Intern will be a representative of the brand to KANEKO’s online community, newsletters, and members.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work under the supervision of the Design & Marketing Manager to assist in the execution of KANEKO’s Brand and Communications.
  • Developing the written elements of the KANEKO social media content strategy including website programs, social media posts, marketing emails, online product descriptions on THEKANEKO.ORG.
  • Working closely with the Design/Marketing Manager of KANEKO to help develop and execute weekly newsletters, social media content calendar, on time, on strategy, and brand.
  • Driving consistency of planning and execution across KANEKO’s key communications channels, including Google Drive, Monday.com, WordPress, Adobe Creative Suite
  • Leveraging analytics proactively and reactively to drive success with our online community and changing communications on the fly as needed.

THE CANDIDATE

  • Marketing, Graphic Design, or other related degrees (or degree in progress) or commensurate experience with a preferred focus in the Design & Marketing disciplines
  • Comes with strong knowledge and passion for current Social Media culture and trends.
  • Possessing an excellent command of the English language.
  • Shows high standards for their own work, writing with style and paying careful attention to detail.

SCHEDULE + REWARDS

  • Communications and Marketing Intern’s schedule will depend on either college program and/or KANEKO’s need and will be determined throughout the interview process, 10-30 hours per week depending on schedule, availability, and credit requirement 
  • Internship is granted college credit upon approval of an advisor. 
  • Communications and Marketing Intern is provided with full membership benefits during the time of employment. 
  • Communications and Marketing Intern receives full mentorship & guidance in the Arts Nonprofit sector throughout the time of employment.
