Finance Manager

The KANEKO is looking for a person with a financial and accounting background and an interest in system organization and management. The Finance Manager will have financial oversight of the entire staff at KANEKO to manage bookkeeping, financial organization, and documentation, donor database management as well as some day-to-day administrative tasks. This individual should have a passion for problem-solving and paying attention to the details with a strategic mind to overlay ambitious business goals on top of operational and programmatic strategies of a creative non-profit.

Job Description

  • Title: Finance Manager
  • Reports To: Director of Operations
  • Compensation: Negotiable salary (based on experience) with great benefits
  • Hours: Full Time

Duties and responsibilities

Financial Support and Efficiencies:

  • Full-Charge Bookkeeper/Controller
  • Manages bill payments, distributing invoices, archiving payment, deposits
  • Oversees banking, budgets, reconciliations, and all financial reporting
  • Organize and manage financial documentation for greater reporting efficiency
  • Tax preparation and point of contact for yearly audits
  • Payroll tracking and management

Tracking Grants:

  • Works with grant writing team to ensure current, accurate financial information
  • Managing financial reports that align with grant requirements
  • Tracks grant payments and reporting deadlines

Administrative Support:

  • Database and Process Management: tracks and documents donations and memberships using Bloomerang and Givebutter database systems
  • Team admin support and light office management

Must be flexible to occasionally working all-staff events outside of normal office hours

Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Must embrace the Mission of KANEKO
  • Must have an accounting degree (or similar professional equivalent)
  • Non-profit accounting experience preferred
  • Must have at least 3 years experience in a similar role
  • Proficient in QuickBooks, Microsoft and/or Google Suite
  • Detail-oriented with excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently, be flexible, and manage multiple priorities
  • Work well in a team-oriented environment and maintain harmonious relationships
  • Display a positive attitude, show concern for people and community, demonstrate presence, self-confidence, common sense, and good listening skills
