KANEKO Gallery Supervisor 

KANEKO staff are curious about the world, about how ideas are created and about the exploration of creativity in all its forms. The gallery supervisors support the mission of the organization by maintaining the gallery space, working the front desk and interacting with visitors during our public exhibitions. They are the face of KANEKO and represent the organization both within the gallery and out in the community. 

Job Description

  • Title: Gallery Supervisor 
  • Reports To: Gallery Coordinator
  • Status: Part-Time 

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Check-in guests and monitors KANEKO gallery spaces during open hours
  • Maintain the gallery space, looking out for potential hazards to artwork or visitors 
  • Communicate the KANEKO mission and details about Gallery exhibits and programs with visitors in a friendly and professional manner
  • Work with Bloomerang database to manage memberships, donations, and merchandise sales
  • Work KANEKO special events and programs as well as private space rentals by assisting with check-in, set up/break down, basic sound and video support, all-around event support
  • Open and close facilities, including setting alarms and key-holding responsibilities 
  • Lead public and private tours about current exhibitions and programs  
  • Assist Administrative Assistant and KANEKO office staff with tasks as needed
  • Assist Facilities Manager with exhibit install and de-install as needed
  • Additional duties as assigned


  • Friendly, open personality who is comfortable in busy, social situations
  • Articulate, well-organized, and at ease with taking initiative
  • Ability to reliably and punctually adhere to a schedule
  • Maintain professional appearance
  • Interested in and inspired by the creative process, art, history, community, and education 

Big Plus (but not required): 

  • Experience in customer service 
  • Experience with database management
  • Education or experience in the arts or art management
