This feedback session is brought to you by Fire in The Belly Theater and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. The 2016-2017 feedback series is made possible by generous contributions from Humanities Nebraska, the Nebraska Arts Council and the Nebraska Writers Collective.
feedback is an ongoing series that aims to elevate the conversation about the writing process. This literary reading series invites featured writers to present new works or works-in-progress in order to get audience feedback on those works. Part reading, part conversation, the goal of feedback is to provide working writers with a space to take creative risks, to invigorate the audience by inviting them into the writer’s creative development, and to provide the audience an opportunity to generate their own work.
ABOUT THE AUTHORS
Beaufield Berry-Fisher is a playwright, blogger, journalist, novelist and theater enthusiast. Inspired by empathy, true stories, history, burlesque and rebellion Beaufield’s work strives to connect on a human level and always questions the status quo. Her work has been produced in Nebraska, Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, Colorado and Las Vegas. She’s participated in the Philadelphia Spark Fest, Great Plains Theater Conference, KC New Works festival and the William Inge Festival. Beau often writes for American Theater Magazine, collecting stories across the Midwest’s growing theater scene. She’s often seen onstage performing with the local Burlesque troupe Hot Tail Honeys. She is the founder and executive director of FireBelly Repertory Theater, here in Omaha and a member of the Writers Guild of America. She lives in Omaha with her husband and 2 year old son and owns Hot Date Creative Consultants, an event and PR company. Beau loves a good challenge, the word yes, and is passionate about theater for the masses. She’s also impatient, impulsive and a control freak–take that as you will.
