Failing Friday

Jan 17, 2014

KANEKO | 1111 Jones St

KANEKO in partnership with the entrepreneurship efforts of the Greater Omaha Chamber of Commerce presents Failing Friday on Friday, January 17 from 4:30–6:00pm.

As part of our ongoing effort to talk about and endorse failure, KANEKO will host a public discussion with a reception to help to promote a dialogue about failure.  Failing Friday is an informal gathering of conversations around failure amongst peers, facilitated by KANEKO’s Executive Director, David M. Thompson, while enjoying a brew and snacks.

Failing Fridays offer a bi-monthly compliment to our regular Failing Forward Conversations, another ongoing programming series in which a panel of speakers share their powerful stories of lessons learned through failure.  Failing Fridays follow a looser, open-mic format to allow for greater participation and input from attendees. Participants will be able to engage with each other about personal failures and reflect on the positive impact of these experiences.

Dusty Reynolds, Director of Entrepreneurship and Innovation at the Greater Omaha Chamber of Commerce, believes, “A community that accepts and endorses failure is a community that fosters an environment of creativity and innovation.  The hope is that Failing Fridays can serve as a catalyst for Omaha to have a more open and honest dialogue about failure.”

Failing Friday on January 17 from 4:30–6:00pm will be held at KANEKO (1111 Jones Street in Omaha’s Old Market).  This event is free and open to the public.  Attendees should be 21+.  For more information on Failing Fridays and Failing Forward Conversations, please go to
